GODFREY Catherine Mary "Kitty"

Born at Fremantle, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. J. Magner, she came to Ongerup with her parents 43 years ago. Apart from a few years she spent the whole of her life at Ongerup.
In 1932 she married a local boy Edwin Godfrey, a son of the late Mr & Mrs. A. C. Godfrey, who were also district pioneers
Although she led a secluded life, Mrs Godfrey leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her passing. A most sincere and devoted daughter, wife and mother, Kitty was also a friend whose friendship left the receiver the richer.
Her death occurred on 4th May 1954 after a short period in the Katanning District Hospital, of Catherine Mary Godfrey (known to her many friends as Kitty) at the age of 49 years.
The late Mrs. Godtrey had been suffering poor health for nearly two years.
 The funeral took place in the Gnowangerup Cemetery where her remains were lain to rest in the Catholic portion as were those of her father and mother.
The service was conducted in the Roman Catholic Church and later at the graveside by Father Leach in the presence of her friends and relatives who included companions of her school days.
The chief mourners were her husband Edwin, daughter Belle, and son Doug
